Mama bear and cub, Cades Cove, May 2015

An exciting encounter in Cades Cove. There was a bear jam and we got off to see them. First, nobody knew there was a baby. We just saw mama bear waking around. Suddenly something moved in the grass near her and then we saw a little head. I got so excited! Then the baby went up a tree and allowed us to take all these photos. Mama bear came really close at some point and everybody started moving away, but she didn't care. She was minding her own business. I love this valley!
